Here you’ll find Ballistol’s highly effective and extremely versatile products. Ballistol universal oil can be used for almost anything you can think of—from maintenance and lubrication to treating eczema, dry skin, cuts, and chapped lips, as well as oiling wooden handles and knives.

The Klever company was founded in Cologne in 1874. In 1904, they developed the unique oil, Ballistol, because the German army needed an oil that could be used for weapon maintenance but could also be used by soldiers for wound care, minor injuries, and scrapes. The name Ballistol comes from the words “ballistic” and the Latin “oleum,” meaning oil.

In 1905, Ballistol Multi-Purpose Oil was adopted by the army, and word of this “magical” oil with its many uses spread like wildfire. Today, Ballistol Multi-Purpose Oil is used by military units and special operations forces around the world.

Since then, a number of new products have been introduced, including Neo Ballistol, an oil specially formulated for body care, massage, hand and Foot Care; Stingfree for insect bites; and much, much more.

Over the past few months, we’ve tested the products, lubricated and cleaned our razors, and oiled the handles and blades of our straight razors and chef’s knives.
