Here you’ll find our selection of exquisite Zwilling Tanrei Kitchen Knives. The Tanrei series marks a new era in knife-making. We combine Japanese forging craftsmanship with German engineering.

A new dimension has been made possible by the new premium steel. Zwilling developed this steel and used it for the first time in the new Tanrei knife series. Tanrei consists of six Japanese knives featuring a unique Damascus design, crafted from 101 layers of a completely newly developed steel and an FC63 core. This guarantees superior hardness and edge retention.

The combination of the Japanese knife-making tradition and Zwilling results in Tanrei—the perfect combination.Six different knives that share the most important quality characteristics of master-crafted knives: All the cutting tools in the series are manufactured in Seki, Japan, and are genuine originals, products of traditional craftsmanship, hand-sharpened by true masters of their craft. These ultra-hard knives, with a hardness of 63 HRC, are extremely sharp yet flexible and rust-resistant. Each knife is uniquely designed with a distinctive damask pattern—typical of Japanese knives—that flows seamlessly into the handle.

The ergonomic grip with three rivets and a handle made of fine micarta perfectly complements the Tanrei knives, both visually and to the touch.
